My little girl is getting all grown up...
Miranda(7th grader) came home to tell me all about how "the cute 9th grader boy"
(named Matt) gave her a hug as he went off to class after they were hanging out and talking before her social studies class.
I think its so cute! Mike thinks it time to go hunt down all 9th grade boys named Matt. LOL!!!
I am glad she is willing to share with me her stories and her life. I think its great that she is finding out that the dorky boys she went to elementary school with are just that.
I am kinda sad my only little girl isn't so little anymore. I guess it just makes me feel old.
Of course I will be 29 forever so I can get over that :O)

Going to SLC to meet DH for lunch
Wade and I are headed to SLC in just a few to meet my DH and an old friend for some Thai food for lunch. I am hoping I can find something soft. I would go topless if I could get away with it just cause wearing anything touches the sunburn on my neck and I am grumpy! However topless is just not a good idea for people trying to eat so I will force myself into some clothes and try not to whimper and complain to much.
The kids started CORE testing today so the kids were NOT supposed to be late. WELLLLL my sweet DD took my keys out of my purse and hid them from her baby brother because he is an escape artist and so he has to be locked in sometimes. However she didn't put my key back in my purse or even any of the normal places she hides them. So we are running around frantically looking for them, I finally had to call and get her out of class at the Jr High and she being almost 13 had such a great attitude, Says to me well I put them down in between the cushions of the chair, like that was the most logical thing in the world and I am a totally idiot for not knowing that's where she put them.
So DS was 15 minutes late, his teacher is annoyed (oh so sorry for that NOT!) and I spent the whole morning in a tizzy!
That Thai food better be good! (there are a couple quilt shops on the way home if it isn't)
Mer just for you I moved the TMBG song since it isn't your fav! LOL Crin

fundraiser day
I had the lovely job of being the "responsible adult" at the bounce house at the PTA fair. My quilt only brought in $30 some people have no idea what it take to make a quilt. SIGH! I have a nasty sunburn!
On top of everything It was also the fundraiser day for the boy scouts so we had over cooked spaghetti with tasteless sauce and bread sticks with almost no garlic or butter. I just am glad the its all over!
The worst of it is we had like 3 other invitations for today to do much funner things, my sister was having a girls night out they went to the firing range and then went and had food and facials, Our friend David wanted us to come down and have some yummy Thai food and our friends from Kaysville wanted us to come do movie night.
Oh well at least its over and I don't have to feel like I need to do anymore fund raisers, oh and I got a cute new purse too.

Off to see Dr Bishop Jody again
"Yes my dentist is my bishop, He lives 4 houses away from me that is both good and bad. So I went back today for him to finish my work and he ended up having to do a root canal, well at least he started a root canal apparently I have "crooked roots" so he didn't have the tools to finish the root canal. SIGH now I get to wait 10 days until the endodontist is able to get me in to finish it. I bought a bunch of soft food and I picked up my Loritab (I should be feeling no pain soon!) I love Jody he is an awesome neighbor and a great bishop but I will be glad not to be seeing him professionally soon!
Oh I heard from Julie so I guess everyone will have to wait until my 200th post for the next give away. :O)

Rare political rant!
Now let me start by saying I am not against clean air or recycling or even conservation however that being said I REFUSE to celebrate "Earth Day".
Earth Day was founded by a group of nut cases that believe that we (the human race)are a plague upon the earth. That's just whacked!
Look in the bible
Isa. 45: 12
I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
God created the earth for man and man for the earth.
I found a great article about the first Earth Day
you should read this
So I am not turning on all the lights in my house or running my car all day out of protest,
However I am not trading in my van for a Prius or changing all my light bulb to fluorescent (they give me a migraine).
I refuse to not wash my clothes for days at a time to save from putting soap in into the water, I will continue to use deodorant and disposable razors, and if I cut down the bushes in my front yard its just cause they are ugly!

Opps!
okay so I finished the Jr High quilt but I forgot to get a picture! the PTA pres said she would get me one. I have been playing some more and added some tunes to my blog, I think it lets you know a lot about a person when you listen to the music they listen to. So what do my tunes say about me (besides I am stuck in the 80's LOL!)

I have been inducted
I have been sucked into the PTA they enticed me by asking me to be the VP liaison to the legislature. That will be fun. Instead today I spent 3 yes 3 hours working on the details of the 5K and fair that is coming up this month. SIGH! I just found out I am going to spend 2 days in Provo at a PTA conference. I have to pick out 6 workshops. Grumble!
My plot to bring down the PTA from within is going to be more labor intensive than I thought. (evil laugh here)

Tell you what I will offer a prize package drawing where you can win a prize worth not $1.50, not $150.00(come on do I look like I am made of money ;O) ) but $15.00 for my 150th post!
All you have to do is leave me a comment on my blog here on this post and I will put your name in the drawing, Post a link to my blog with the info about the drawing and I will put your name in 3 more times.:O) How easy is that and you could win not one but two lovely Fat Quarters( maybe we should start calling them chubby quarters or size optimised quarters we don't want to give the fabric a complex)and a classic quilt book from my favorite quilt author, Eleanor Burns (this one happens to be Make a Log Cabin Quilt in a Day)

I was checking out all of my great quilt blogs today and I ran across this Pay It Forward idea on Caryn's blog http://piecefulchaos.blogspot.com/
Basically the rules are, the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a handmade surprise from me within the next 365 days. All they have to do is the same thing on their blog and so on and so forth.
So be quick be one of the first 3 people to leave me a comment on my blog and commit to during the next year sending someone something handmade (Yes I am afraid you do have to have a blog to play)I am excited to play I hope you are too!

Tagged
I was tagged by Jo in TAS http://scrapnstitch.blogspot.com/ to tell 7 random/weird/unusual things about me. I did this a while ago so I have to come up with 7 new ones. Lets see...
1-my eyes are blue around the edges, green in the middle and brown towards the pupil.
2-I married my DH on the 3 month anniversary of our first date
3-I have seen cadavers including the internal organs dissected by medical students.
4-I am allergic to the red dye they use in food and candy so (sad face here) no M&M's, Fruit Loops or Jello for me.
5-I read at an extremely fast rate, I read the last Harry Potter book in 7 hours and I read all the Elm Creek Quilts books(7 or 8 I think) in 2 1/2 days.
6-I don't eat foods that have a "weird" texture (taste doesn't factor in just texture) like avocado or cream of wheat.
7-I love to do crafts, needlework, quilting, crochet all of that but hand me knitting needles and I might as well be using my feet. I can cast them on but then can't get them back off the needle, I swear at it more than anything so I just don't do it.
So there you go. I think I have tagged everyone I know so if you read this and you haven't been tagged... your it!
