Wash Day or we don't want to be know and the nekkid family

Its that day the day when you pull out a pair of ratty cut off sweats that should have been thrown out 2 years ago and a bra that really doesn't support anything any more and you say to yourself "Well I guess its do laundry or start a nudest camp" That's where I am today.

I am going to follow in Henry Fords footsteps and have an assembly line to get things done. Moody pre-teen son gathers the clothes and takes them to the washer, really moody teenage daughter washes and drys the clothes, I fold the clothes and 5 year old that thinks he is a teen so is still moody takes them to the appropriate rooms so the owner can put them away.

They aren't aware of this diabolical plan for their time, I am starting by taking all the controllers to the game consoles and hiding them, that will fix the boys. DD is a bit harder as she would be willing to sit in her room and read for days on end, so I must come up with a way to keep her involved, I think it will need to start with her MP3 player finding its way to the same hiding place as the game controllers.

Wish me luck!

Oh on a different note I almost have finished 4 applique blocks I am doing for an elderly neighbor lady that still loves to quilt but can't see well enough to applique so I do the applique for her. I will post a picture before I deliver them they are darling if I do say so myself.

Hope your day is full of love and happyness,

The next one is of our group(minus me) in front of the store in Evanston,WY It is called Connecting Threads and is also really cute.
The last one is of me and my friend Carol in front of the same store.

Doctors are like chocolates you never know what your going to get!

Monday I had a terrible experience with a doctor who told me that there was nothing wrong with me it was all in my head and if I lost some weight then I would be fine. Today I had a visit with another doctor (because I am not going back to the first one!) who listened to what I had to say understood what I was going through and while there is no cure for chronic fatigue there are treatments and she was able to help me start working on a couple.

As some of you who have followed my blog know I have been feeling progressively more and more tired and worn out and really like total crap for the last 3 years. Every time I went in to tell them I felt yucky was another round of tests and another round of specialists. I am grateful because we wouldn't have found my heart defect until I had a stroke had I not been going through all of this. I have had sinus surgery, tonsils out 2 sleep studies, heart surgery, I take iron, RLS medication, thyroid meds, anti depressants, and vitamins up the wazoo in a quest to feel like a human being again.
Diagnosing CFS is a process of elimination so it has been a long and frustrating 3 years. I have some new medication as well as a new eating, exercise and massage therapy plan. For the first time in a long time I feel like the doctors aren't saying well its all in your head just stop being tired, get more sleep and lose weight. Well dang I would if I could huh! I am grateful to have a diagnosis and some kind of treatment plan. Will I ever be running the Boston Marathon probably not but by dang I am going to be able to take my kids to the park or go on a field trip with their class.

Thanks for letting me ramble,

Sorry I have been out of it

I have been a slacker blogger cause I just have felt cruddy.
I have also been busy, My DS1 turned 11 he is getting his Weblos badge, his arrow of light and his faith in God award. I am pretty proud of him farther than my brothers or my hubby.
DD and DS1 received certificates from the state board of education saying they had scored in the top 10% in the nation on the IOWA tests. Also a very proud moment for mom and dad.
DS@ thinks now he is 5 her is really 15 and has developed the I know so much more than you mom attitude. I think I need to buy large amounts of duct tape or something ;O)
Grandma is still with us but steadily going down hill, its almost imposable to understand what she it trying to tell you any more. Its Sad!

DFIL is doing well last I had heard he needed a little speach therapy but no physical therapy. He was very blessed.

DH had a A1C test and his sugar is high so both of us are trying to clean up our diets, he of course has lost 7 pounds I have gained 10. GRUMBLE!!!!

I hope you all have a great day,HUGS!

Crazy drive

We got a call that my DFIL had a stroke on Thursday so we got in the car and drove from Northern UT to Southern CA (a 12 hour drive) We got here Friday morning and I am happy to report that my FIL is doing really well. He was lucky they got the clot busters in him in time. The stroke was at the back of his head and if they hadn't broken up the stroke he would have been dead or paralysed from the neck down.

We will be back on the road headed home Monday morning after a stop at the Mecca of quilting in Southern CA, Quilt in a Day!

HUGS!

DH says being a girl geek is good.

SOOOO my DH informs me that being a girl geek is a rare and precious thing. I think its just cause he is a geek himself.

Find out just how big a geek you are HERE
I ranked 44.97041% - Major Geek

Hugs,

Thursday, January 15, 2009

So either I am a geek or a man

I have come to this conclusion because-

I know the answer to "Life the Universe and Everything" is 42.

I wonder what the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow really is. (European not African obviously)

I know I need to buy a fake bead if I am going to a stoning.

I know who Zaphod Beeblebrox is why he stole "The Heart of Gold" and what mice have to do with the whole thing.

I know why Luke Skywalker and Princess Lea could never be an item.

I call my dog a Ferengi cause she loves to have her ears rubbed.

I know the proper way to clean mouse balls.

I know that using "The Spice" will turn your whole eye blue.

But most of all I get this comic and think its hysterical

you have to click on it to see the whole thing

Today I need to be thankful...

I know when I am having a "down" day I need to be thankful so here goes...

I am thankful for my children- I am thankful that Miranda is getting better and that she is smart enough to write short stories even if it means she takes over my laptop all day, I am thankful for Austin and his tender heart even when he is crying and having a fit when I make him do chores, I thankful Wade and his inquisitive mind even when he is taking all the knobs off everything in my house with a screwdriver.

I am thankful for my home- even the 28 stairs that need to be vacuumed

I am thankful for clothes to wear- even the pile of laundry that never seems to go away

I am thankful for my furbabies- even my puppy that eats my good shoes

I am thankful for snow- even when I slip and fall in it

I am thankful for food to eat- even when I have to shop for it and that it creates dirty dishes

I am thankful for the gospel- even when I have to teach primary

I am thankful for all of you no even on this one. ;O)

Miranda bug update

This has been Miranda since we got home from the surgeon. She has her ice pack, her quilt mom made and her book oh yeah and her cat for protection from the dog. They gave her liquid Loritab and it works about as well for her as me(not at all)
She is doing remarkably well and I think by Monday she may be asking to go back to school we will see.

Poor sweet Miranda Bug

Tomorrow my sweet girl goes in to have all 4 of her wisdom teeth taken out as well as a tooth that is growing horizontal in the roof of her mouth. She should be out of commission for a while. Hers look just like the impacted ones in the picture. So if I am scares its cause I am taking care of my only baby girl.

I know its late but it didn't feel like the holiday was over until the kids went back to school today! So woo hoo! Happy New Year!

Its been so dang cold here the last few days its been below zero at night, BLECH!

It started snowing again this afternoon and so I went to get a bundle of wood at the store and slipped in the parking lot (I am going to change my name to Grace) I managed to bruise my whole right side, a big one on my knee another on my hand, a really pretty one on my ribs and one that's going to be a doosy on my hip.

At least I have my fire :O)

EEEEeeeeeKKKKK!!!!!

My cute puppy found not one but two dead mice someplace in my house! Not this kind

This kind

I had a total breakdown, called the emergency animal hospital since it was after 5 on the weekend (They said she would be just fine), Then went to WalMart and bought $135 worth of traps, poison and bleach products to scrub the entire house.
I spent the day bleaching the entire house.
The mice she found were pretty much mummified so we have no idea where, when or how they died or even where she found them (she found them about an hour apart the second while I was buying bleach because of the first one)
I haven't gotten over the feeling like I am going to hurl or the skin crawling sensation but with the house smelling faintly like a swimming pool and new dishes, silverware and food (yes I threw out my dishes, silverware and any food that was open including all the cereal, chips and bread!)

DH thinks I over react a bit but I think with an animal that can carry the plague it's necessary (not to mention I needed new dishes and silver wear anyway)
HUGS!!
