EEEEeeeeeKKKKK!!!!!

My cute puppy found not one but two dead mice someplace in my house! Not this kind

This kind

I had a total breakdown, called the emergency animal hospital since it was after 5 on the weekend (They said she would be just fine), Then went to WalMart and bought $135 worth of traps, poison and bleach products to scrub the entire house.
I spent the day bleaching the entire house.
The mice she found were pretty much mummified so we have no idea where, when or how they died or even where she found them (she found them about an hour apart the second while I was buying bleach because of the first one)
I haven't gotten over the feeling like I am going to hurl or the skin crawling sensation but with the house smelling faintly like a swimming pool and new dishes, silverware and food (yes I threw out my dishes, silverware and any food that was open including all the cereal, chips and bread!)

DH thinks I over react a bit but I think with an animal that can carry the plague it's necessary (not to mention I needed new dishes and silver wear anyway)
HUGS!!

Lol... okay... food and cleaning I get... but dishes?? Lol. They can be washed too :o) But I get ya! We had a mouse in hour house and I did the same drill with the traps, etc. and the cleaning. I was scared for awhile that I was going to wake up to one chewing my hair or something!

Gee, you should have thrown out the furniture, clothing, etc, too. Good excuse to buy all new, lol, you poor girl!

Better yet. Buy a new house and move! My husband understands how you're feeling, he suggested the new house, lol, he's married to me - this old house of ours had a few of those furry little guys in residence when we moved in. You should have heard my screams all the way out there in Utah...YIKES!!

We live in the country and have a little house guest now and then - but the we started keeping 4 cats outside and one inside and no more mice!! At least no more for quite awhile. I do understand the cleaning, but my goodness - you through out all your dishes? I guess that is one way to get new ones.

I totally agree with you, of course you had to throw everything open away.

oh! i can sympathize. we had mice problems in our last house and it really gets to you psychologically. nothing gives me the creeps more than the thought of a mouse in my kitchen! good luck!

YIKES!!!!! I hate rodents!!! I am not sure that I would have thrown out the dishes and silverware. lol But, they would have gotten a good hot bath in some bleach! I hope all of the little devils are gone now!

I know exactly how you feel! When my babies were just pups they brought inside a dead RAT and were playing with it on the sofa .... I have no idea where they found it!
