Holy cow!
I can't believe I haven't posted anything all week, bad Carin bad bad Carin!
So I have had a crazy couple days with my middle child starting middle school and my baby starting kindergarten, I am starting the long year of driving to the school in circles all flippin day cause of the whole half day kindergarten thing. SIGH!
I received 2 of the 3 books I ordered with my birthday money this week, received the charms pack I won on Julies blog and started a Halloween table runner.
But as I am running out the door to drive in some more circles you will all have to wait for pictures ;O)

What I've been working on all day
I made this table runner for a friend of mine, an old boy friend to be more precise. He asked me to make him a quilt for his King size bed, now given that
1) I don't make king size quilts (they are freaking enormous)
2) I don't top the list of his wives favorite people, I think she is a little bugged we are still friends, I don't think she wants to sleep under a quilt I made, or make her bed with it everyday. I have a feeling that if I did somehow a bottle of iodine or something would end up in the middle of it.
So my thinking is this, if I make him a birthday table runner that his whole family can use (he has 5 kids so I made it bright and fun so they could use it) that it stands less of a chance of finding its way to the thrift shop or dog bed.

I spend yesterday sucked into this...
This is the 4th of 5 books in the "fever" series by Karen Marie Moning. I have waited a year for this book to come out because the last one was left with a cliff hanger ending. (This one too dang it)
If you like fantasy but not over the top fantasy (you know what I mean) then you will like this series, The first book is "BloodFever" in case you wanted to start reading them.

Monday SIGH!!
I am not sure I like Monday's!
I had a truly lovely weekend, crazy busy but lovely!
I cleaned my house like a woman possessed in case anyone that came over might have to use the restroom or anything, I just know that someone will notice the dust at the back of the refrigerator if I don't clean it LOL!
I had wonderful friends come over for my 40th celebration (pictures to follow as soon as I figure out where DH hid the camera from the kids.)
We had cake(MMMMMmmmm), salsa, veggies, doughnuts, baklava, cukes in a brine, tortellini, pasta salad, and little wieners in bbq sauce. I told everyone just to bring there favorite food so it was a rather eclectic mix.
After we ate we played a rousing game of apples to apples in which I learned that my DD who is only 14 gets the jokes about whip cream (EEEK How did that happen)
Sunday I had my primary class(like Sunday school)I have 3 7 year old girls, we managed to get through the entire class without me having to hear about any ones cousins swimming pool and there dog, so over all a good primary class LOL!
After church and a short nap we went to the Dickerson/Maxwell monthly birthday party, I need to explain that me and DH are neither Dickerson's or Maxwell's they are a wonderful family that when my DH was in high school they were his second home, he dated 3 of the daughters, and now we go and celebrate birthdays once a month with them. Its all good, we have fun and its no weirder than the fact that we go to visit my old boy friend and his wife and kids for all of there birthdays, the fourth of July and New Years.
I ate way to much sugar and had not enough sleep but I had a wonderful weekend. So that takes us back to Monday, I now get to whip the house back into shape, go to the post office and pick up the veggies for dinner at the grocery store. Its just not as fun is it. LOL!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well,

Great new blog!
Incredible Women
I found this one, one of my follow the links of comments to new blogs.
(does anyone else do that?)
I love the idea, Kara is interviewing REALLY incredible women, not celebrities, not politicians but women that have overcome struggles the are incredible just by being them not because they have a publicist.
I hope you can stop over and check it out, week one just ended and the interviews with the first incredible woman had me nodding my head, laughing and crying.
Enjoy,

I am an aunt again!
This is my beautiful sister and her new baby boy born yesterday at 7 pm, I have to hate her just a little she was only in labor for 3 hours and didn't even have to push. As someone who had a 36 hour labor and an emergency c-section with one of her kids I find it totally unfair ;O)
He is totally adorable! I got to hold him for almost an hour last night and he just cooed and slept not even a real fuss.
I hope you are all having a blessed day!

The cat is out of the bag...
15 years can you believe it!
15 years ago today I married my sweetheart in the Salt Lake City LDS temple, it was love at first sight but he left for Italy for 2 years so I had to wait until he returned to realize he loved me too!
I can't imagine my life without him, he is my strength, my therapist, we best friend and a dang good kisser!
(this is a G {okay PG} rated blog so we wont go into ALL the things he is good at)
I am so happy to be married to him for all eternity knowing that after this life I can continue to make him crazy!
I love you sweetheart!

Back to School WOO HOO! NOT!
Well today is the big final registration for my sweet baby girl to get her classes for HIGH SCHOOL!!! How the heck did that happen, I just graduated I swear.
She is going to a charter school that specializes in science and art. She has elective choices of electrical engineering, Arabic, ceramics, theater or band. Where was this school when I went to high school?
I am going to have to re-live high school by volunteering a lot. Poor girl all her friends will think her mom can't let her go to school alone. :O)
Have a fantastic day!

Its my birthday and I'll cry if I want too..
40 years ago on August 11th at 3 am I came into this world crying and I may have to repeat the performance for this birthday :O)
I am not sure I am thrilled about this particular birthday it seems like it should be a milestone. I should be "over the hill" but I still feel like I am 19.
We will have to see how it goes. I already bought my own gifts last week and my parents and mother in law both want to take me to dinner at some point this month so I am thinking it is going to be pretty anti-climatic.
I hope you are all having a fantastic day!

1 party down one to go...
Today is the day for kids birthday parties! This morning we had my nieces at a local swimming pool (see pictures above)
In an hour we need to leave for a friend of the family little girl is turning 5.
The pool was actually really cold and my little guy spent half the time with purple lips wrapped in a towel with me on the side of the pool.
I am hoping the next party will be a little more quiet but somehow I doubt it.

totally random things
First I had to update my about me info as i am no longer in the PTA and my baby is going to school this year so I am no longer a pre-school entertainment coordinator. While I was at it I updated my photo.
I took this pic of my oldest today for her facebook page, she is getting so OLD!
We went to the county fair today and my baby showed the army guys he is a future NFL star if he just grows a bit, I also took some pics of the wonderful quilts made by the women in my county. Enjoy.
Oh and you have to check out this darling tutorial over on the Moda bake shop to make kitties and puppies http://www.modabakeshop.com/

applique done and delivered!
Wash Day or we don't want to be know and the nekkid family
Its that day the day when you pull out a pair of ratty cut off sweats that should have been thrown out 2 years ago and a bra that really doesn't support anything any more and you say to yourself "Well I guess its do laundry or start a nudest camp" That's where I am today.
I am going to follow in Henry Fords footsteps and have an assembly line to get things done. Moody pre-teen son gathers the clothes and takes them to the washer, really moody teenage daughter washes and drys the clothes, I fold the clothes and 5 year old that thinks he is a teen so is still moody takes them to the appropriate rooms so the owner can put them away.
They aren't aware of this diabolical plan for their time, I am starting by taking all the controllers to the game consoles and hiding them, that will fix the boys. DD is a bit harder as she would be willing to sit in her room and read for days on end, so I must come up with a way to keep her involved, I think it will need to start with her MP3 player finding its way to the same hiding place as the game controllers.
Wish me luck!
Oh on a different note I almost have finished 4 applique blocks I am doing for an elderly neighbor lady that still loves to quilt but can't see well enough to applique so I do the applique for her. I will post a picture before I deliver them they are darling if I do say so myself.
Hope your day is full of love and happyness,
