I have been lost in piles of my childrens homework. Heres the rub I didn't do homework myself! I want them to be better off than I was so I make them do it and lose it when the lie to me about what they have done.
So here I sit being the homework gestapo, I know I am a huge hypocrite but I hope I am at least a good mom.

New hair
I will never have long hair.
This is a fact I have desided I just have to face. I love to try out new hair styles.
I am usally not a straight hair person, I am trying it out. I think it has to do with being a teen in the 80's I am used to big hair. I like ir so far. I think it needs to be a new color but I think I may just be to old for pink.

other stuff I am working on
This is my first attempt at a quilt using my scraps from other quilts to make a "scrappy" quilt. I am a little OCD so I had to manipulate the scraps so the black and white and the brights where on the same sides. :O) I will be putting yellow sashing with black cornerstones between each block. The hardest thing I have ever done is to put the scraps in a bag and make myself put what ever came out together. It totally freaks me out to put patterns together that don't "match" or colors I would NEVER put together. Its a growth experience. :O)

French Roses
This is one of the quilt projects I am working on, I am part of a swap and we are trading 20 roses so I will send in 20 and get 20 different ones back, It should be a beautiful quilt. I am really excited if I could just get off my duff and finish them.
They are pretty quick to make now that I have them all cut out. I think that's on my list of stuff to do tomorrow. I plan to lock myself in my sewing room and get a bunch of stuff done!

HOT CHOCOLATE
A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired.
During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups - porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite -telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.
When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said: 'Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.
While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.
What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups and then you began eyeing each other's cups. Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups.
They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided us. God makes the hot chocolate - man chooses the cups.
The happiest people don't have the best of everything.
They just make the best of everything that they have. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.
Thanks Cindy G

Sunday is nap day!
So with the change to our church schedule we now have to be at church at 9 am. BLECH!!!! That means that we are up by no later than 7 am (on the flippin weekend) to get everyone ready for church.
SO because I only let Wade nap during church we came home and crashed. HARD for several hours.
I only have 11 more months until we go back to 11 for church. At least I don't have to teach anything. SHHH don't tell anyone.

Snow Snow go away!
This is the backyard buried in snow! We have close to 3 feet of snow here and its supposed to snow every day until the weekend. BLECH!!!! I think snow is great and beautiful in the mountains but I don't want it on my driveway not to mention that I am cold all the time anyway.
I guess I should be glad that we will have the water we need for the lawn and the farmers and I guess if I was a skier I would be thrilled but I am not a skier or a farmer so I am not thrilled.
If I was ambitious I would build a fire but that would mean getting out of my jammies and going out into the dang snow to get the wood. No I think I will just complain and wrap in another blanket.

Of quilts and train pictures...
I think I finally have everything up in Wades room and its all decorated. I have 7 black and whites I took at the Ogden train depot the first picture is just one of them. I put them in red frames on his new tan walls grouped 3-1-3 with the 3 being 5x7 and the 1 being 8x10.
I made this quilt for Wades toddler bed it has the words choo choo hand quilted all over it. Of all the rooms in the house Wade's looks the most like I want it to. Maybe I can get my hands on Austins room next ;O)

The big 4!
My sweet baby turned 4! I can hardly believe it. He will go to preschool in September. Wow! He is such a sweetheart and he is a joy to have around (most of the time ;O) )
He had a great birthday we had his party on Sunday because having your birthday party on New Years Eve kinda puts a cramp in people coming. He likes the idea of having 2 birthdays and he love that they have fireworks for him on his birthday. :O)
He got a leapster for Christmas and I am amazed at how fast he is learning letters and numbers. He is being so cute with it he feels like he is a big boy like his brother with his gameboy.
Right now he is being cuddly so I am going to take advantage of this time while I can soon enough he will be 9 and not want his mom to hug him in front of his friends.
